Preparation // What you’ll need:

Tint brushes & mixing bowls (one set for each colour)

Plastic bags or a towel to protect your clothes

Rubber or plastic gloves

Foil to wrap each section of your hair if you don’t want the colours to get messy (I didn’t use it the end lol)

Hair clips to separate your hair

Hair dye (I used Directions semi-permanent dyes)

Conditioner to lighten the colours (cheap ones would be fine)

Chổi nhuộm tóc và bát pha màu (mỗi màu một bộ)

Túi nilon hoặc khăn để bảo vệ quần áo khỏi dính màu

Găng cao su hoặc nilon

Giấy bạc để bọc từng phần tóc nếu không muốn màu bị dính vào nhau (nhưng mình lười nên không dùng)

Kẹp tóc để chia tóc cho dễ nhuộm

Thuốc nhuộm (mình dùng màu tạm thời của Directions)

Dầu xả để pha màu cho nhạt bớt (phải pha nhiều nên dùng loại rẻ cũng được)

Colours I used: Lagoon Blue, Turquoise and Alpine Green

Các màu mình dùng: Lagoon Blue, Turquoise và Alpine Green

Scissors and tape for if you’re using plastic bags to wrap yourself.

Kéo và băng dính nếu bạn dùng túi nilon để bảo vệ áo.

Hair oil and brush to tame your hair after dyeing and drying. I’ve been using Macadamia Natural Oil – Healing Oil Treatment for a few years now, it’s like magic to my heavily bleached and dyed hair. Same goes for the brush, which is the original Tangle Teezer brush. It’s the only brush I ever used that actually detangles my hair and not breaking it. Best duos ever!

Dầu dưỡng tóc và lược để chăm sóc tóc sau khi nhuộm và sấy. Mình dùng Macadamia Natural Oil – Healing Oil Treatment để dưỡng tóc vài năm nay rồi, siêu tốt luôn. Tóc mình tẩy nhuộm vô số lần rồi mà dùng dầu này xong nhìn tóc như kiểu khoẻ lắm. Lược thì mình chỉ dùng Tangle Teezer thôi. Nó là loại lược duy nhất gỡ rối tóc mà không làm đứt tóc mình. Bây giờ đi đâu mình cũng phải mang theo bộ đôi này.

Vaseline to coat your hair line, ears etc. Anywhere you don’t want the dye to stain on. An oil based make up remover and cotton pads for when you accidentally get the colour on your skin or furniture.

Vaseline để bôi gần chân tóc ở trán, gáy, vành tai v.v… Tất cả những chỗ bạn không muốn bị dính màu nhuộm. Tẩy trang loại dầu và bông tẩy trang để lau nếu bạn lỡ dính màu nhuộm lên da hay đồ đạc.

Wet tissues and toilet paper for the same purpose. Anything you prefer. And plastic bags or whatever to place around and protect the surfaces you’re using.

Giấy ướt và giấy vệ sinh để lau nếu bị dính bẩn. Nói chung là dùng bất cứ thứ gì bạn muốn. Và túi nilon để bọc mặt bàn hoặc những thứ xung quanh khi bạn nhuộm tóc.

Let’s get dying!

First, put lots of conditioner into your mixing bowls if you want colours lighter than the dye. Then mix in just a little bit of the hair dye to see how the colour goes.

Đầu tiên là cho thật nhiều dầu xả vào bát pha màu nếu bạn muốn màu nhạt hơn so với thuốc nhuộm. Sau đó cho một chút màu nhuộm vào và pha cùng.

  

If the colour is still too dark for your taste, mix in more conditioner. And if it’s too light, mix in more dye (just remember a little goes a long way).

Nếu màu vẫn quá đậm bạn có thể pha thêm xả. Còn nếu màu quá nhạt thì lại thêm thuốc nhuộm. Nên nhớ màu khá đậm nên cho ít một để pha từ từ thôi nhé.

These are the main colours I’ll be using for gradient hair. I’ll add the green dye later on.

Đây là 2 màu chính mình sẽ dùng để nhuộm ombre. Lát nữa mình sẽ pha thêm màu xanh lá.

So this was my hair. I love this colour better but I’ve had it for such a long time and suddenly I just wanted to have blue hair again haha. Plus my roots were really long and I thought it’d look less gross with blue rather then pink lol.

Đây là tóc mình lúc đấy. Mình thích màu này hơn thật nhưng để hồng lâu quá rồi nên tự nhiên muốn thay đổi chút, và cũng lâu lắm rồi chưa nhuộm lại xanh hihi. Chân tóc mình cũng mọc ra dài quá rồi nên mình nghĩ nhuộm xanh nhìn đỡ kinh hơn là chân đen với tóc hồng haha..

 

  

Next. Wrap yourself in plastic bags like me, or a towel or nothing if you’re wearing an old T-shirt you don’t mind staining. Then, section your hair and clip it from your ear up and brush the section you’re about to dye.

Tiếp đến, bạn có thể bọc nilon như mình hoặc dùng khăn, hoặc ko dùng gì cả nếu bạn ko ngại bị dính màu vào áo. Sau đó, chia tóc và kẹp phần tóc từ tai trở lên, rồi chải phần tóc bạn chuẩn bị nhuộm.

 

Remember to wear your gloves or else the stain will stay on your hands forever. Take a smaller part of your hair and start dying.

Nhớ đeo găng nhé ko thì tay đầy màu nhuộm ko rửa được đâu. Chia tóc ra mỏng hơn và bắt đầu nhuộm.

I should have brush the lagoon blue on first and then the turquoise..

Đáng ra mình nên bôi phần xanh đậm trước rồi mới bôi màu xanh nhạt -_-

 

Dye both sides before taking down another section. If the new section is tangled, brush while it’s dry before dying.

Bôi cả 2 bên rồi sau đó hạ bớt 1 lớp tóc xuống và nhuộm tiếp. Nếu tóc rối thì chải trước khi bôi thuốc nhuộm lên.

Remember to blend in the colours so the gradient look more natural.

Nhớ chải cho đoạn giữa 2 màu mix vào nhau để nhìn gradient tự nhiên hơn.

 

Now it’s time for the green bottom. As it was too green I mixed it in with the remaining turquoise colour in the bowl so it’d blend in well with the rest of my hair.

Giờ thì tới phần xanh lá. Vì màu xanh lá nhìn hơi lạc loài với 2 màu xanh kia nên mình pha cùng chỗ màu turquoise còn lại trong bát.

Use your hands to slightly brush through your hair to blend the colours, but not too much or else you’ll ruin the gradient. Now leave it for about 45′.

Dùng tay vuốt nhẹ tóc để các màu blend vào nhau tốt hơn, nhưng đừng vuốt nhiều quá nếu ko màu sẽ bị lẫn và mất gradient. Giờ thì để tóc như vậy khoảng 45′.

If you have extra mixed colour, you can store it for next time.

Nếu bạn còn thừa màu nhuộm, bạn có thể cất đi và dùng tiếp cho lần sau.

Washing & Drying

 

If you can, wash your hair with cold water so the dye won’t run out too much. After shampooing, dry your hair with a towel and use the oil treatment.

Nếu được, gội đầu với nước lạnh để màu ko bị trôi mất quá nhiều. Sau khi gội đầu, dùng khăn thấm hết nước thật kĩ rồi bôi dầu dưỡng tóc.

   

Again, section your hair and dry it thoroughly. Then it’s time for the Tangle Teezer to perform its magic.

Lại chia tóc như lúc nhuộm và sấy kĩ từng phần. Sau đó dùng Tangle Teezer kì diệu để chải mượt tóc.

Styling

After brushing your hair, section your hair again to start styling. This time I’m using my Tsuyagla Triple Barrel 32mm hair curler or iron or whatever.

Sau khi chải tóc, lại chia tóc và uốn từng lớp một. Ở đây mình dùng máy uốn Tsuyagla Triple Barrel 32mm.

And voilà! Gradient blue hair. Actually straightening my hair might have been better lol.

Và sản phẩm cuối cùng là đây! Tóc xanh gradient. Có vẻ như nếu là tóc ra thì sẽ đẹp hơn haha..

 

Ah well. Whatevs!
